A home where your child blooms every day.
Blooming Babies Daycare has spent over a decade caring for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers across Alexandria, Fairfax, and Arlington — in a warm, spacious home built around low ratios, real meals, and real attention.
“Every child is unique and deserves a nurturing, stimulating place to grow.”
Blooming Babies Daycare is run by Shazia, who spent years working at corporate daycare centers before deciding to open a home of her own — small enough that every child gets real, concentrated care instead of getting lost in a big system. She has personally run Blooming Babies for over a decade now, across the Alexandria, Fairfax, and Arlington area, with the steady support of her husband of 30-plus years, Asim, and a wonderful, highly trained staff. That decade-plus of hands-on experience shapes everything here: simple operations, straightforward fees, and a deliberately small roster so the focus never leaves the kids.
She has raised three kids of her own — two Hokies and a Mason Patriot, all grown now — so she knows firsthand what parents are looking for.
Families find a clean, spacious, licensed home with easy parking, limited screen time, and a team that treats every drop-off as if it were their own child walking in. The curriculum is reviewed twice a year by a Virginia Quality (VQB5) inspector to make sure literacy, motor skills, creativity, and social-emotional growth all stay on track.
An approach built for every stage.
Each age group is shaped around what that stage actually needs — not a one-size approach, but a pace that fits.

Common questions.
What ages do you serve?
Children from birth to age six, across our Infant, Toddler, and Preschool groups.
How do I enroll?
Reach out by phone, text, email, or the form below with your child's desired start date — we recommend reserving your spot one to two months in advance, since space is limited. If a spot is available, a deposit equal to four weeks of tuition secures it; it's applied toward your first four weeks of care, not an extra fee. From day one, you'll be part of our private parent text group for daily photos, updates, and a summary sheet at pickup, so you always know how your child's day went.
Is there a waitlist?
We typically have 2–3 spots open per year. If we're full, reach out to join the waitlist and we'll contact families in the order interest was received.
What are your hours?
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We offer a 15-minute grace period for drop-off and pickup, and our holidays generally align with federal holidays.
Are you licensed?
Yes — fully licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Family Day Home, with both announced and unannounced inspections throughout the year to confirm we meet state health, safety, and educational standards.
What's your staff-to-child ratio?
A low 1:3, occasionally 1:4 depending on staffing that day. All staff are fingerprinted, background-checked, CPR/First Aid certified, and complete at least 16 hours of annual training through the Penn State KidCare Program.
Do you provide meals?
Yes — we provide three free USDA-certified meals every day, so you never have to pack a lunch. Just bring them hungry — no need to squeeze in breakfast while you're rushing to get yourself ready for work.
Are there any extra charges?
No hidden fees — tuition covers meals, snacks, daily activities, and learning materials. The only potential extra charge is an early drop-off or late pickup fee after the 15-minute grace period.
What's your sick-child and cleaning policy?
Children stay home until symptom-free for at least 24 hours (or cleared by a doctor). All children must be fully immunized per Virginia guidelines unless exempted. Toys and surfaces are disinfected every evening, with a deep sanitization weekly.
Where should I park?
Right in front of the house — we keep a few spaces open so drop-off and pickup take about two minutes, no need to unbuckle a car seat or find street parking.
Spots fill quickly — let's find your child's spot.
Tours run throughout the week. Reach out and we'll find a time that works.
